Abstract

5G cellular networks require providing significantly higher system capacity and user data rates. This paper addresses issues of mm-wave antenna design at 60 GHz spectrum. The proposed antenna resonates at 26 GHz with 2 GHz bandwidth, designed on Rogers RO 3003 substrate with relative permittivity 3 using CST Microwave Studio. The result shows minimal return loss of -19.34 dB, gain 6.97 dBi, and bandwidth 2 GHz. The element is converted to a uniform linear array of 8 elements, increasing the gain to 16 dBi with high radiation efficiency. Beam squint problem is also analyzed.
