Publication Ethics

Stardom Engineering Scientific Journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The integrity of the scientific record is a shared responsibility of authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher.

Author Responsibilities

  • Submit only original work; cite the work of others appropriately.
  • Avoid duplicate, redundant, or concurrent submissions.
  • List all and only those who made substantive intellectual contributions.
  • Disclose all conflicts of interest and sources of funding.
  • Retain raw data for at least 5 years and make them available on reasonable request.
  • Notify the editor promptly of any significant error discovered after publication.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Treat the manuscript as confidential.
  • Decline reviews where conflicts of interest exist.
  • Provide constructive, evidence-based assessments within agreed deadlines.
  • Report suspected misconduct privately to the editor.

Editor Responsibilities

  • Decide which submissions are published based solely on scientific merit, relevance, and originality.
  • Ensure a fair, timely, and confidential peer review.
  • Take action on credible allegations of misconduct in accordance with COPE.
  • Publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as warranted.
  • Maintain editorial independence from commercial influence.

Publisher Responsibilities

  • Support editorial independence and adherence to COPE.
  • Maintain the digital archive and ensure perpetual access.
  • Implement systems for plagiarism detection and conflict screening.

Misconduct

The journal investigates allegations of:

  • Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism).
  • Data fabrication or falsification.
  • Image manipulation beyond accepted standards.
  • Authorship disputes / ghost or gift authorship.
  • Duplicate submission or salami publishing.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
  • Citation manipulation.

Confirmed misconduct may lead to rejection, retraction, notification of the author's institution, and a publication ban for repeat offenders.

Human and Animal Research

Studies involving humans must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and obtain documented ethics-committee approval and informed consent. Animal studies must comply with relevant guidelines (e.g., ARRIVE). Approval information must be stated in the manuscript.
