Abstract

In this research, we summarize the important points in the balancing process. These practical points were extracted from external and local experiences on the work site, and these practical points are rarely found. Keep in mind that it should not take more than one or two trim runs or there are likely other issues influencing your measurements. If your amplitudes actual increase, it is time to stop and determine why. It is reasonable to continue so long as we are achieving a reasonable reduction in vibration with each weight placement. Machines that are severely out of balance require care in the beginning until a reasonable reduction has been achieved. Be sure to adhere to all safety guidelines and ensure the machine is always properly locked out prior to applying weight to the rotor or touching the shaft.
