Abstract
This research investigates the design and optimization of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) structures to enhance simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in cooperative relay networks. Novel RIS deployment strategies and optimization algorithms are proposed to maximize performance of SWIPT-enabled cooperative relay networks. The study jointly optimizes placement of RIS elements, relay selection, transmit power allocation, and RIS phase configuration to achieve the desired trade-off between communication reliability, energy efficiency, and spectral efficiency.
